Interesting or Nah’s MLS Game of the Week | FC Dallas vs. LAFC

FANDUEL SPORTSBOOK LINE: FC Dallas +190, LAFC +115, Draw +240

Following its largest away success in five years, a 3-0 triumph against Minnesota United FC on Saturday, Dallas has an opportunity to gain momentum. With four games left, Dallas has climbed to third place with 10 points from a potential 15 from its last five games. But there is still much to be done.

Nico Esévez and company will need to capitalize on their most recent victory with a battle against the Western Conference’s top team, LAFC, while Nashville, Minnesota, and Salt Lake are all within four points (and the latter two have a game in hand).

Dallas will face one of its hardest tests of the year when the leaders of the Western Conference visit the city. With players like Carlos Vela, Gareth Bale, and Chicho Arango, Steve Cherundolo’s team not only has the second-best attack in the conference but also the top defense (only 33 goals allowed compared to FCD’s 34).

The renowned utility player Ryan Hollingshead, who spent eight seasons in Dallas before joining LA with left back Marco Farfan traveling the opposite way, is one of LA’s stars. Hollingshead will play at Toyota Stadium for the first time since his offseason trade, and the Dallas supporters will give him a warm welcome. Hollingshead, after all, just last week added to his FCD legacy by scoring the first goal in LA’s 2-0 victory over Real Salt Lake, a team that is closely pursuing Dallas in the postseason race.
