Kellyn Acosta was traded from the Colorado Rapids to LAFC for what could reach $1.5 million in General Allocation Money, but was not initially happy about it and said via Twitter that his old club “pushed me out” and ignored transfer interest from clubs abroad.
The 26-year-old has wanted to play in Europe for a long time, even back to his days with FC Dallas. The Rapids claim that a bid came in from Europe for Acosta a few hours after the trade was completed, for a “one-year free loan with an option to buy”.
He wanted to set the record straight, but he did tweet a message that he’s excited to play for LAFC. Good luck bro.
