Are MLS best selling jerseys moving units?

Summer signing Gareth Bale (LAFC) has only been in Major League Soccer for three months, but he already has the MLS best selling jersey.

The top 25-selling jerseys for the 2022 MLS season were revealed a couple weeks ago, with the former Real Madrid superstar leading Charlotte FC defender Christian Fuchs (No. 2), LAFC forward Carlos Vela (No. 3), LA Galaxy forward Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez (No. 4), and Atlanta United forward Josef Martinez (No. 5).

The rankings are based on total retail sales of adidas MLS jerseys on MLSstore.com between the start of the 2022 season and September 1. However, with the lack of third kit options and accessories in team apparel lines, one must wonder how many units is MLS really moving as a whole? Exact sales numbers are hard to come by but the overall amount of product available suggests that MLS are moving enough to open up more options for fans.

Rox and Ken discuss who is a surprise on the list and the landscape around MLS apparel, or lack thereof.
