The San Jose Earthquakes of Major League Soccer are set to interview North Texas SC head coach Pa-Modou Kah, according to sources with direct knowledge of the situation. The Earthquakes see Kah as a strong candidate to take over the head coaching position that became available when the San Jose-based club parted ways with Matas Almeyda in April.
Another question is whether Kah will be hired. The interview is just the beginning of a lengthy process to find the club’s next head coach. However, the Earthquakes went above and beyond to make the interview possible.According to sources, Kah was initially hesitant to participate in the process due to contractual obligations with FC Dallas, which operates the MLS Next Pro team North Texas SC.
The Earthquakes, on the other hand, went above and beyond to get the process started, and have already discussed potential compensation with Dallas. It would be Kah’s first senior position in Major League Soccer. However, the former Vancouver Whitecaps player already has a strong coaching background. He successfully led Pacific FC to their first Canadian Premier League title in 2021.
In an interview with Transfermarkt, Kah made no secret of his desire to coach in Major League Soccer. Rox and Ken talk about this potential hire and play a game of ‘Interesting or Nah’ with this weeks games in the MLS and NWSL.
